In Argentina, the "Ibero-American Network of Blockchain and Cybersecurity" is inaugurated

This pioneering initiative, coordinated by the National Technological University (Córdoba Regional Faculty) and originated in the city of Córdoba, brings together 13 research groups and four chambers from eight Ibero-American countries.

On June 5th, in  Argentina,  the  Red  Iberoamericana de Blockchain y Ciberseguridad (RIBCi), a pioneering initiative that emerged in the city of Córdoba and coordinated by the National Technological University (Córdoba Regional Faculty). The network has the participation of 13 research groups and four chambers from eight Ibero-American countries.

The main objective of the RIBCi is to promote research, training and collaboration in events related to  Blockchain  y  cybersecurity , two topics of great relevance today and of great interest to industries and academic development at a local level, with a significant global impact.

During the launch of the network, various talks and a master class open to the public were held, where knowledge and experiences related to Blockchain and cybersecurity at the Ibero-American level were exchanged.

In addition, the first General Assembly of the Network was held, in which the founding act was signed and the statute of the organization was approved. The Minister of Science and Technology, Pablo De Chiara, was present at the event together with Oscar Medina, coordinator of the RIBCi, and 17 representatives of eight Ibero-American countries, who participated both in person and virtually.

During her speech, De Chiara expressed her gratitude to all those who made it possible for the network to develop and coordinate in the city of Córdoba. He highlighted the collaborative innovation approach that has been central to his management, highlighting the need to accelerate technological adoption and professional training processes in response to the demands of the productive sectors. 

He also stressed the importance of collaboration between science, technology and the international perspective to carry out joint projects.

The minister pointed out that the RIBCi has a promising future and affirmed that he is convinced that the work of the network will be of great importance, anticipating the prompt incorporation of new actors and projects.

The RIBCi has the participation of different institutions and organizations from several Ibero-American countries. In Argentina, the Association of Meat Refrigerators and Industrialists, the Argentine Peanut Chamber, the National Defense University (UNDEF), the Catholic University of Córdoba and the Catholic University of Salta.

In  Portugal  the Center for Organizational and Social Studies of the Polytechnic of Porto, the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration of Porto (CEOS.PP), ISCAP and the Associação dos Jovens Agricultores de Portugal participate.

From  Panama  The Technological University of Panama is added, while from  Colombia  The Free University, Sectional Cali is involved. 

The University of Vigo represents a  Spain  in the network, and the Institute of International Studies of the University of Chile joins from  chili . In addition, the José Simeón Cañas Central American University participates from El Salvador, and the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks REDCLARA joins from  Uruguay .

This project, promoted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Córdoba, through the Córdoba Blockchain HUB and the Córdoba Regional Faculty of the UTN, has been selected to receive financing from the Ibero-American Program of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED).

The coordination of the project is the responsibility of the CIDS Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Technologies Laboratory (CIDS Blockchain Lab) of the National Technological University, Córdoba Regional Faculty.
