Colombia: Microsoft HoloLens 2 launched to boost the use of the metaverse

The software giant announced the release of the second version of its standalone holographic device in  columbia . The idea is that more industries are motivated to enter the  metaverse .

Microsoft  launched HoloLens 2 in Colombia. This device, which provides a mixed reality experience,  hits the market with a more comfortable design  than the previous version, a more powerful Snapdragon 850 processor , an improved HPU and WiFi connectivity, among other important innovations such as its field of vision that almost doubles that of the previous model.

HoloLens 2 is defined as the world's first self-contained holographic computer to be integrated into the Microsoft cloud ecosystem.

The giant of  software  he assures that the idea of this launch is to be able to promote the growth of the industrial metaverse, a space where companies can simulate manufacturing or logistics processes in the cloud to test and iterate as many times as necessary, before implementing it in real life.

The benefits of using mixed reality in industries

With the above, companies would be able to find opportunities to improve their processes, as well as identify design improvements and even reach new levels of  safety  and efficiency.

And it is that even, according to a study by Forrester Consulting, shared by Microsoft, ensures that companies that implement mixed reality solutions with HoloLens 2, will be able to obtain return on investment (ROI) of 343%-- nbsp;in three years. Additionally, by reducing errors and avoiding wasted resources in industrial operations, companies would save $4.1 million over three years.

For Alyssa Taylor, Microsoft's corporate vice president for Azure and Industry, HoloLens 2 would not only be of great use to businesses as such, but also greatly benefit frontline workers.

HoloLens 2 will be available in Colombia from the distributor Impresystems. With this launch, Microsoft seeks to drive digital transformation and innovation in various industries, improve productivity, quality, and safety for workers and organizations.
