Wemade presented a paradigm shift to blockchain gaming at GDC 2023

Wemade, a South Korean gaming and blockchain giant, successfully wrapped up its participation as a Diamond Sponsor in GDC 2023, presenting a paradigm shift in the industry to blockchain games.

WEMIX PLAY, its global number 1 blockchain game platform, was at the center of its vision. Its booths provided experience-based WEMIX PLAYcontents to visitors. Meetings were held with game companies and blockchain developers from around the world for the expansion of the WEMIX PLAY ecosystem.

During the keynote speech, CEO Henry Chang introduced inter-game economy and inter-game play where blockchain games, services and real-life economy are connected, and a huge ecosystem that these will create. Core members of the WEMIX team gave lectures on blockchain games as well.

EVP Wonil Suh spoke from his experiences of servicing many Web3 games. He explained the Tokenomics from its beginning to the present and its generational characteristics, and shared know-hows on onboarding the WEMIX PLAY, supporting game development and more.

Head of Business Creative Center Robin Seo spoke on Transformation of Games into Blockchain Games. Based on four elements including Tokenomics, Marketplace, GameFi and Community that make up WEMIX PLAY, he explained what processes conventional games go through when transforming into blockchain games and what makes WEMIX PLAY unique and competitive.

Global creator Myrtle Sarrosa, the first creator who issued FanToken through WEMIX PLAY, shared her experiences and takeaway of building a blockchain economy with her fans.

Developers interested in WEMIX PLAY and blockchain games participated in a panel discussion, where Wonil Suh, Wook Kim and Robin Seo joined a Q&A session.

GDC 2023, the world’s biggest annual conference for video game developers, was successfully held at Moscone Center, San Francisco USA from 20th to 24th March.
