KT targets the B2B B2G metabus market
KT announced on the 21st that it will provide 'KT Meta Lounge' in earnest so that B2B and B2G customers such as companies, universities and educational institutions, and public and local governments can utilize it.
KT Meta Lounge is a solution that provides a customized metabus for B2B and B2G customers, and was developed by KT together with kt ds, an IT service company of the KT Group. Customers can freely use the space and functions developed within the Meta Lounge, including the AI-based specialized functions of the Meta Lounge.
The Meta Lounge differentiates itself from the existing Metaverse platform by providing its own space and additional functions according to customer needs. Since it is possible to implement a customized metabus, it can be used in various ways, such as a metabus classroom reflecting the university's symbol, and a local government's community communication event.
Customers can reduce the time and cost required to plan and produce metabus services by providing additional customized spaces and functions to the spaces and functions already developed by KT. In addition, there is an effect of creating their own metaverse space differentiated from others.
AI-based specialized functions provided by Meta Lounge include automatic generation of meeting minutes, real-time translation, creation of avatar recommendations, and AI NPCs (characters that cannot be directly controlled by the user) that will serve as secretaries in the future. Among them, the real-time prosperity function collaborated with XL8 (XL8), a startup specializing in AI-based machine translation.
Meta Lounge is composed of three buildings and an outdoor space, Business Hall, Academy Hall, and Conference Hall, with the concept of sharing, communication, and flow. In the business hall, there is an MOU room that provides various functions necessary for events in a space that can accommodate up to 30 people, as well as conference rooms that allow video conferencing, data sharing, and downloading.
In the Academy Hall, participants can control their speech/seating/seating for smooth lectures, and functions such as announcements, chatting, and real-time screen are included. In addition, the conference hall has a conference room that provides specialized functions such as ceremony guidance and AI real-time translation.
In addition, in an outdoor space, a close-up video conversation function is possible using avatars, enabling lively communication. In addition, in My Room, you can check schedules, enter quickly, decorate your avatar, and in My Lounge, a VIP space, you can hold video conferences and share data like a meeting room. The meta lounge space was designed and designed by Tomun Architects.
Meanwhile, KT is securing references by actually using Meta Lounge with various companies and institutions. Last June, an MOU between the Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee (GYCC) and KT was signed at the Meta Lounge MOU room.
Also, since September, Eduwill has been conducting lectures on using the Meta Lounge for the Yeongheung Power Headquarters of Korea South-East Power Plant. In addition, Shinhan Bank plans to use the meta lounge for its own meetings and customer briefings in the future.
“Meta Lounge is expanding the market for B2B and B2G customers and is carrying out various cooperation to provide customized solutions for customers,” said Kim Young-sik, head of KT’s DX Platform Business Division. We will continue service planning and technology development for the metaverse solution.”
