Collection of NFTs inspired by Rio de Janeiro fosters social and educational initiative

Half of the amount collected will go to the NGO Educar+, which promotes education about new technologies in the Final Feliz favela, in Complexo do Chapadão

Artist Albarte, in partnership with Borderless Money, released a collection of  NFTs  Sustainable ones inspired by Rio de Janeiro. Three of the works in the collection were donated to Educar+, and can be purchased until next Saturday (11). NFT prices vary between US$ 10 and US$ 50, and part of the amount collected will be transferred to Educar+.

Impact of NFTs

Albarte is an artist from Complexo do Chapadão, in Rio de Janeiro, and used references from his reality to create a collection of works transformed into NFTs, in partnership with Borderless Money.

Called Sustainable NFTs, these arts have the mission of ensuring the sustainability of social projects, and must be linked to one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (OSD) of the United Nations (UN). This is the case of the NGO Educar+.

Educar+ is a project that operates in the Final Feliz favela, also in Complexo do Chapadão, bringing new technologies to more than 100 children in the community. Actions such as the donation of three NFTs from the Albarte collection, of which part of the amounts will be transferred to the NGO, are essential for the maintenance of Educar+, says its founder and CEO, Carol Santos.

“Having projects as partners that carry a mission and values similar to ours is fundamental. With the sale of NFTs, in addition to supporting and helping to launch an artist from the periphery of our territory, we will be ensuring the sustainability of our technology projects. It is these partnerships that make possible the work carried out by Educar+ every day, and prove that art and technology can and should be accessible”, says Santos.

Culture and technology are two of the three pillars of Educar+, which also include education. To date, more than 300 children and young people have been impacted by the NGO's actions, which continue to serve the families of program participants on a daily basis.

Mothers of students, for example, are taught basic computer skills. Support is also given through basic food baskets, with the distribution of more than 1,500 of them during the existence of Educar+.

Pedro Bruder, co-founder of Borderless Money, estimates that it will be possible to raise up to US$ 25,000. Bruder says that 50% of the amount collected will be destined to Educar+, 25% will be directed to ODS Educação deQualidade, 10% will be passed on to Albarte and the remaining 15% will be used to fund the campaign.

“The NGO Educar+ is a reference in doing a  Web3  reaching places not yet accessed and changing people's lives from there, which is in line with our mission of promoting initiatives that generate a positive impact in the world”, concludes Bruder.
