Telefónica's latest idea is to reward you with NFTs and tokens for sightseeing

In its effort not to be left behind in the face of advances in new technologies, Telefónica continues to be immersed in related projects, among others,  with the metaverse ,  with holographic calls , with the web3 world or with cryptocurrencies. Recently released  an NFTs marketplace  and now he wanted to apply his blockchain technology in a tourism project.

In this way, the unBlock SuperApp, which allows access to any product, event and service in the city, will now integrate TrustOS, the managed blockchain platform of Telefónica Tech. With this, You will be able to offer incentives based on fungible tokens and NFTs that will give access to exclusive advantages, such as tickets or discounts.

Tourism model 'visit-to-earn'

unBlock, a company specialized in smart tourism, has reached an agreement with Telefónica Tech to integrate its Blockchain technology and create the first SuperApp web3 in the tourism sector. The objective is to implement the concept of visit-to-earn, by which the users' own activity is rewarded by obtaining tokens.

From now on, the unBlock SuperApp, which already allows tourists and residents to access products, events and services of the cities, the TrustOS platform with blockchain technology from Telefónica Tech. Thanks to the TrustOS tokenization module, unBlock will be able to offer- -nbsp;rewards based on fungible tokens and NFTs to users who consume the city services available within the app (buy, pay, book, attend an event...).

Users will then be able to monetize those tokens by transferring them to other users or  accessing exclusive advantages  when they return to their city of origin or when they visit another destination.

In addition, these NFTs and other benefits that the application distributes in real visits push users to follow your suggestions in order, so that it is possible to redirect users in real time based on the capacity of each location and thus avoid crowds or long waiting times.

The result of this alliance will be presented on January 19 at FITUR. Visitors to the unBlock stand will be able to take a virtual route through different tourist locations in the city of Seville. Those who complete it will earn a commemorative NFT that they can store in their unBlock virtual passport.
