Ambev launches game focused on Web3 and NFTs value 415%
The gaming sector based on blockchain still going strong even after the collapse of FTX . Data from DappRadar point that, in November, activities related to these games represented 42.67% of interactions with blockchain. Daily, more than 800 thousand users interact with this ecosystem.
It is in this rich scenario that the game CryptoTitans is inserted. Developed by an all-Brazilian team, located in Campinas, the title is an initiative of Ab InBev, a 'Fortune 500' company that decided to pioneer the Web3 .
AB InBev is a multinational that emerged from the merger between the Brazilian Ambev, the Belgian Interbrew and the American Anheuser-Busch. Although famous for brewing beers, the game promotes the holding company's non-alcoholic brands.

CryptoTitans is a card battle game , where the NFTs have the attributes of attack, defense and agility, and battle using these characteristics. The game has 4,500 characters, whose issuance took place on the blockchain Solana , at a starting price of 0.75 SOL. Currently, the minimum price for each NFT is 3.1 SOL, representing an increase of almost 415% since its launch.
The game assumes the model of play to own , whose focus is on NFTs acquired by users. To Cointelegraph Brasil, the senior leadership of the project explains that the more the user plays, the more his character evolves. From the trading point of view, NFTs with better attributes may be traded at higher prices. Therefore, there are no rewards in the form of native tokens, as in the--nbsp model; play to earn .
“We believe that play to own is simpler for the user. The user's only asset is the NFT, and it is much simpler to explain its usefulness, and its valuation is linked solely to the player's performance. This is easier to explain to users who are not familiar with crypto,” says AB InBev.
Furthermore, CryptoTitans focuses on mobile devices. Uma research from Coda Labs indicates that 85% of gamers play on mobile devices at least once a week. The team behind the game, which is said to be made up of “geeks and gamers”, took these numbers into account when defining the direction of the project.
“Any company worth its salt wants to capture the attention of its users, and nowadays, a good part of that attention is devoted to games”, says the senior leadership of CryptoTitans. “I don't doubt that people will soon get involved with play to own games, once they understand that the assets they own in this universe have liquidity.”
Project expansion
AB InBev's aim is to spread the game around the world. For this, communities are being created in different regions, with content focused on their participants. In Brazil, the dissemination of CryptoTitans is strong through the game's Discord, as well as through actions involving well-known brands, such as Guaraná Antártica.
Project leadership adds that there are plans to expand content initiatives targeting the Brazilian audience to TikTok and Instagram. “We believe there is a lot of potential to ship users from Brazil.” In the “Web3 User Study” report, Coda Labs points out that 92% of Brazilians use mobile devices to play, representing a fertile market for titles like CryptoTitans.
Community engagement is also viewed favorably by the project team. The NFT resale rate is low, indicating an intention to use cryptoassets to interact with the game, rather than just profiting from trading in the secondary market. “We did a good job of engaging with the community, distributing roles and 'status' among users.”
One of the forms of engagement is the early distribution of content to holders of CryptoTitans NFTs. At first, an early access ticket to explore the game through a “mini game” will be distributed in December. 🇧🇷

What to expect from the project?
CryptoTitans is an ambitious project by AB InBev, which plans to scale the game globally. The senior leadership behind the title says an important advancement is the creation of a marketplace for NFTs, expected to take place in February. “For now, players only have access to their character's appearance. When our marketplace launches, the performance attributes of each NFT will be revealed.”
In addition, the team says it plans to add tools to make it easier for new users to onboard. The purchase of non-fungible tokens through Pix, for example, is one of the planned ways to make the user experience simpler.
After the launch of the marketplace and the reveal of each character's attributes, the beta version of the game will be released. Access, however, will only be given to holders of CryptoTitans NFTs.
Lastly, the game's senior leadership claims that there will be no shortage of events involving CryptoTitans. “We will run a series of tournaments after launch, where the lowest expected prize pool is $50,000,” he concludes.
