Controversy seizes the Latino collection of NFT Comedy Monster Club

For days now, the social network Twitter has been the site where investors of the Comedy Monster Club collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT) have begun to air their disagreement with the management of the project.

The initiative was in the hands of the Venezuelan comedian Roberto José Cardozo, known as Bobby Comedia and two people, one who calls himself JD, in charge of the NFTs and David Roa from the financial aspect.

Comedy Monster Club was born in November 2021 as a collection of 10,100 NFTs priced at 0.10 ether (ETH) each, a native cryptocurrency of the Ethereum network, as highlighted on their website.

Collectible owners would have access to comedy events, an exclusive podcast with guest comedians, financial benefits, and more.

However, in the opinion of several members of that community, the path of the project began to go wrong last February or at least that's what the Twitter user @epodotcom believes, according to his story.

«February, for me, was the month where the problems began, since 3 months after the launch the sold out had not been achieved and that for an NFT project is death. Holders start asking questions and many remain unanswered," explained @epodotcom on December 12.

As the months go by, NFT owners begin asking questions about the future of their investments and some are kicked out of a Telegram group run by the founders of Comedy Monster Club, reported @ epodotcom.

For @epodotcom, non-compliance by the people behind the project arises when there is a "leak of funds from the project's community wallet". According to the investor's testimony, the founders of Comedy Monster Club appropriated 239 ETH, which represents USD 304,000, according to the CriptoNoticias Price Calculator.

"This is not counting credit card transactions that, according to calculations within the community, are around 1.5 million dollars, which were never declared," said the investor.

For his part, the user @AleReyes indicated that the roadmap or roadmap was not fulfilled as promised. "The podcast, in the end, was not exclusive to holders in order to sell more, so without having the NFTs they could enjoy (the show)."

Comedy Monster Club fights back

Given the wave of complaints and complaints about the alleged fraudulent project, the Venezuelan comedian Bobby Comedia decided to issue a statement in which he argues that it has complied with part of the commitments by the Comedy Monster Club .

In principle, he mentions that he was left alone in charge of the project, since last November 9, by an agreement with the other two partners.

On the other hand, he assured that the club has been "tied to compliance" with the roadmap. As mentioned in the text, 7,660 of the 10,100 available NFTs have been mined. With which the podcast has been made, a stand up comedy show in Caracas, shows in Colombia, contests and games in which 50 ETH were to be distributed, of which 14 ETH have been delivered.

Only two points on the roadmap were left out because not all of the NFTs were sold, the comedian clarified.

Bobby Comedia concluded the statement by stating that his intention has been the same since the project was launched and that is to "unite Latin America through humor."
