Buenos Aires will create a metaverse of schools and emblematic sites

 

The Government of the City of Buenos Aires is determined to move forward with its own  metaverse . With that objective, he called a public tender to hire a 3D development, design and modeling service. The idea of the officials is to develop an immersive experience of emblematic spaces. The initial budget is 51,120,000 Argentine pesos (approximately 132,435 US dollars).

The Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires in the metaverse

A proposal that goes hand in hand with the aforementioned includes the historic building of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. From March 28  it will be possible to traverse that space  from the metaverse. The idea is part of a search to implement new technologies for the use of residents and tourists in the main Argentine city. The Theater is a true relic built at the beginning of the 20th century, with architectural value and international prestige.

 

The experience is enabled as part of the second edition of the Metaverse Fashion Week ( MVFW ), a fashion event available in the metaverse of  Decentraland  between March 28 and 31. The Museum District will be the right place to find the historic building, Decentraland's first official artistic venue.

 

The virtual representation of the Colón will feature the  hall  main, the concert hall and the golden room. Users will also be able to enjoy digital works of art and exhibitions.

 

 

Diego Fernández, Secretary of Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Government of Buenos Aires, valued how the metaverse can multiply the cultural impact.

 

“The Teatro Colón is a very important building in the City of Buenos Aires, and one of the most famous theaters in the world. With this innovative experience in the metaverse, anyone, from anywhere, will be able to meet it through a virtual world. In this way, we can share our culture with people from all over the planet.”

 

From this proposal, Buenos Aires becomes the first Latin American government with a presence in Decentraland.
