BBVA Mexico celebrates its 90th anniversary with an NFT collection at Avalanche
BBVA Mexico announced the launch of a collection of 90 non-fungible tokens ( NFT ) in the blockchain of Avalanche as part of its 90th anniversary in the country. The project is called "Collection: 90 years with Mexico."
BBVA Mexico reported that it will give away the first NFTs in its collection, and that the designs are inspired by Mexican traditions and pay tribute to the country's customs and culture. The bank has been one of the most advanced in the Spanish-speaking world in launching products related to blockchain and the metaverse .
The announcement of the “Collection: 90 years with Mexico” was made by Sergio Torres Lebrija, Head of Innovation, strategy & sustainability and Diego del Olmo, Head of Blockchain and Digital Assets, both from BBVA Mexico. Avocado Blockchain Services also participates in the project.
BBVA Mexico clarifies that their NFT is for personal use and not for commercial, promotional and lucrative use by the holder . The collection was minted in 2022, the year in which the bank completed its 90 years of operation in the country.
“In 2022, BBVA México celebrates 90 years of assuming challenges to fulfill our main commitment: customer experience, and we have been characterized by the evolution in the continuous adoption of ideas, innovation and modernity that today position us as a player relevant in the digital transformation”.

- Alebrije.
- Mexico Aesthetic.
- The Quebrada de Acapulco.
- Inns.
- Mosaic Tiles.
- Macahuitl.
- Dance Trompo.

- Wooden boxers.
Last October, BBVA launched in Mexico the first “Digital Economy Fund” with which it offered its clients the option of investing in digital projects, FinTech, non-fungible tokens (NFT) , metaverse and other business models related to Web 3.0 .

BeInCrypto reported that Mexicans could already invest in projects blockchain from 50 pesos (2.4 dollars), while in Colombia , BBVA clients could invest in Web 3.0 projects from 20,000 Colombian pesos (4.13 dollars). It was the BBVADIG fund with the participation of public companies listed in the International Quotation System (SIC).
Days ago, BBVA joined the project blockchain Dalion to advance and innovate in the digital identity in the banking sector. Dalion was founded in 2020 by Banca March, Banco Santander, CaixaBank, Generali, Inetum, Línea Directa Aseguradora, MAPFRE, Repsol, Unicaja Banco and the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
