Ministry of Science and ICT Metaverse Performance Sharing Conference Next VK Project Award
The Ministry of Science and ICT provides customized education for young people with the Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA) We held a performance sharing event for the '1st Metaverse Academy' to nurture developers and creators.
The Metaverse Academy selected 210 trainees through a month of pre-learning and evaluation of 992 applicants last April. In the curriculum, the final 182 young people implemented various metaverse worldviews through team projects in a step-by-step learning process.

At this performance sharing event, the final project presentation of the first metaverse academy graduates, graduation exhibition, and recruiting day (on-site interview for corporate recruitment) were held together. In the final project presentation, a total of 10 teams (5 teams for service development and 5 teams for content creation) selected through preliminary rounds out of a total of 52 teams received the Minister of Science and ICT Award (grand prize), the National IT Industry Promotion Agency Director Award (grand prize), and the Korea Radio Promotion Agency. A contest was held to present the results of each team's project for the Association President's Award (Excellence Award).

The Minister's Award was awarded to the Next team, which implemented a one-person virtual production for media creators, and the VK Project team, which planned content mediation between Vietnamese Korean language learners and Korean teachers through the Metaverse.
The graduation exhibition booth was prepared as a place to share various types of project results such as a total of 33 plans completed by trainees through team projects, contents, and platforms. On Recruiting Day, 13 companies participated and conducted on-site job interviews.

At the completion ceremony, awards were given to a total of 18 outstanding students based on the results of a comprehensive evaluation of individual sincerity, potential for growth, and ability to perform tasks during the Metaverse Academy education period.
Metaverse Academy graduates actively engage in external activities based on the skills learned during the course of study, creating economic profits as metaverse platform creators, as well as creative activities through collaboration in the media and culture and arts fields, and various achievements such as winning external contests. did.
Oh Yong-soo, director of software promotion policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, “We plan to further strengthen follow-up support in connection with government support projects so that excellent talents produced through the Metaverse Academy can become a talent ladder for greater growth.”
Meanwhile, in 2023, the Ministry of Science and ICT plans to expand the Metaverse Academy from the metropolitan area to the ultra-wide metaverse hub in the northeast region covering Daegu, North Gyeongsang, and Gangwon to train more than 300 metaverse developers and creators.
