Sejong Cyber University, Korea's first cyber university to build a metaverse campus
Sejong Cyber University announced on the 9th that it opened 'Metaverse Campus' for the first time in Korea on the 5th.
Metaverse Campus is a virtual space of cyber university built online in the form of a metaverse so that students living in Korea and abroad can come and go freely at any time, and various extracurricular activities such as live lectures and creative experience activities are possible.
The Metaverse Campus consists of a total of 600 classrooms, event halls, and professor research rooms. The main function is that about 400 live lectures are conducted in real time, and about 10,000 students can visit the professor's laboratory and have video interviews.
You can receive academic counseling and remote support from tutors at the One-Stop Counseling Center, and you can read books by accessing the Sejong University Electronic Library at the Learning Information Center.
The student hall has about 40 central club rooms, a student lounge, a Korean language education center, and a counseling psychology center. In large-scale auditoriums such as open-air theaters and convention halls, entrance ceremonies, graduation ceremonies, and lectures can be held online and offline simultaneously. In addition, free meetings and student welfare services are provided at Daehangno Cafe and Goods Shop.
The school said it plans to leap forward as a cutting-edge cyber university in the metabus era in that it can participate in live lectures and student meetings anywhere in Korea as well as overseas without time and space restrictions.

Sejong Cyber University has been recruiting new and transfer students for the 2023 academic year since December 1st. A total of 11 faculties and 34 departments are recruiting freshmen and transfer students this time. Anyone who has graduated (or is expected to) graduate from high school can apply, and transfer students can apply if they have graduated from a junior college or a 4-year university and meet the qualifications, such as completing certain credits.
