SP Immigration Museum opens doors for NFT exhibition; discover the metaverse of Brazilian artists at Near
The São Paulo Immigration Museum will host this Thursday (24) the NFT São Paulo event, sponsored by the Algorand (ALGO) blockchain. The exhibition will feature works by 300 Brazilian artists from NFT which will be available until the following Saturday (26).
The event began with the opening of 3 virtual exhibitions, in the Spatial metaverse, on Ethereum (ETH) on July 1st – and will remain open until this Sunday (20th).
On Wednesday (23), the opening event of NFT São Paulo will take place, at the Hilton Canopy Hotel, in São Paulo, and will be closed to guests.
On the 25th and 26th of November there will be a cycle with 14 panels and talks with exponents of the national NFT market, in the auditorium of the Museum of Immigration of São Paulo, which will be marked, on the 26th, by a closing party taking place simultaneously at the -nbsp; metaverso (Voxels) and at Estúdio Curi.
“Despite the importance of Brazil for the NFT market, we still didn't have an event here focused on Brazilian art in NFT, which brought together artists, collectors and blockchains ,” says the statement.
Behind the organization are the couple of photographers Oliver and Shirley Reinis. Both also turn their photographs into NFTs, and have their own gallery in the Voxels metaverse, “ReinisCouple”.

“Isa Danoninho”, artistic name, calls herself a psychedelic artist, illustrator, producer of meta events and is behind the organization of the closing party of the event. As she tells the Crypto Times, not even herself was aware that she would be a producer of events in the metaverse.
She is a member of “Gambiarra DAO” – a decentralized organization on the Near Protocol blockchain that aims to bring, and unite, national artists to the metaverse.
As he says, his role at Gambiarra DAO is as a producer of parties and events, and he was responsible for a party called “Metatronic” that brought artists who played electronic music from outside the blockchain and transmitted in the metaverse.
Metatronic is a project born in Metaverse DAO, another organization where the producer acted as a collaborator.
The more than 200 artists who are part of Gambiarra DAO exhibit their works in NFT format on “mintbase”, a trading platform for Near's non-fungible tokens.
The meetings of the Brazilian metaverse art gallery range from exhibitions, soirées and shows, held at Metaverso called Voxels.
The artist comments that her friend acts as a DJ, and a partner in Banali – a collective that organizes electronic music festivals. Banali is also supporting the exhibition that takes place at the Immigration Museum in São Paulo, and in the metaverse.
“The pandemic prevented this group from getting together, so we decided to do a solidarity Banali that consisted of everyone recording their sound. That was the beginning, where we were prevented from seeing each other and decided to do something that would bring that connection”, he says.
The producer says that the first event, in mid-July 2021, was on the Twitch streaming social network, and resulted in two days of event and several collections for social purposes.
When she joined Gambiarra DAO, Isa confessed that she didn't understand exactly what a DAO was. "I think that's a question that haunts a lot of people."
At the beginning of February this year, the artist was called to produce her own party at Metaverso, and, as she says, it became something recurrent. In addition to her party, she says that from time to time she receives invitations to organize events from other DAOs.
Regarding the NFT São Paulo at the Museu dos Imigrantes, she says that the issue of being physical and in the metaverse ends up involving other demands.
“There is this thing about bringing the license from the physical to the metaverse and vice versa. Several of the pieces of furniture that are there at the physical party, I've already built in Voxels and I've already placed them in the shed where the party will take place. To bring a little of that aesthetic”, he says.
Near Foundation funding paralyzed
As he explains, until about two months ago, the Near Foundation, the foundation behind the blockchain, had some cores that financed projects by categories. Gambiarra received funding from “Creative”, the nucleus responsible for promoting projects within the ecosystem.
The arrival of crypto winter affected funding, according to the artist, the future is not yet certain. “I still don't know where I'm going or what I'm doing”, he jokes.
Funding was based on a voting process within each nucleus. In the case of Gambiarra, an art gallery DAO, it received money to carry out the work carried out in the organization, and thus, to carry out actions as a space in the metaverse.
“There was a time when we rented space in the metaverse. We pay 'the biggest money' in the monthly rent of the space. Then we got a free space that we started using and now we have our 'Near Hub', a space built inside the Near blockchain”, he says.
She says that, two months ago, Near's funding was paused, at least in the core of “Creatives”. “Creatives all over the world are at a standstill, nobody is getting funding. The DAO even has some money saved, but this absurd drop has hurt”, he says.
The “goal producer” of events comments that she believes that, in terms of actions on the Web3 focused on art, São Paulo is more backward than Rio de Janeiro.
“The crowd from Rio is much stronger, united and already occupying very large spaces in this sense. São Paulo is winning the first event of this size”, he says.
The production company comments that, even though it usually does these services “for the art”, it is thinking of offering this service to companies, as a “ meta events producer as a service” .
“I intend to start offering this service to companies. It's a market. You have to rent land from someone, set up the land, do all the creation of the scenery and the aesthetics of what the client wants”, he reveals.
