70% of Russian HR professionals admit that the metaverse will soon replace office work
The Jobby consulting agency, together with Kometa and RB.RU, analyzed the prospects for using metaverses in the Russian HR sector. Experts conducted an online study among HR specialists of all levels and directions, as well as business owners. Its results were presented at a virtual brunch in the Pixity metaverse.
The results of the study were as follows:
- According to more than 90% of respondents, metaverses can become an effective tool for solving HR tasks. At the same time, 86.6% are sure that in the next two or three years the use of metaverses in the Russian market will become ubiquitous, and 68.3% admit that virtual spaces will soon replace office work.
- Only 6.1% of respondents have ever interacted with digital spaces. Nevertheless, more than 54% of respondents said they plan to introduce this tool into their work in the next one to two years.
- The survey participants see the greatest prospect of using metaverses in onboarding (52.5%), staff training and development (45%), holding corporate events (35%). Other popular areas include transforming the work environment and interactions within and between teams, internal communications, and meetings.
Respondents who saw the potential in the use of virtual worlds named a number of constraining factors - these are:
- high price;
- long development by IT-specialists;
- the need to provide employees with additional equipment (for example, VR glasses).
Skeptical respondents at the same time appealed to a lack of understanding of the tool and its functions in general.
“Research confirms that HR professionals are susceptible to metaverse myths. Perhaps due to the fact that they have minimal experience in this area. In fact, their fears are not always true. A project in the metaverse, as well as offline, can always fit into the framework of a certain budget and tasks of the company,” Olga Ostanina, managing partner of the Jobby consulting agency.
