Russia wants to control crypto wallets
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the development of the service "Personal account of a law enforcement agency". With its help, employees will control the movement of funds in digital currencies.
The head of the GUEBiPK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Andrey Kurnosenko, noted that the service will help identify unscrupulous owners of crypto wallets. We are talking about criminal schemes for the use of digital currencies, including cybercrime and corruption.
As part of the bill on mining, which was submitted to the State Duma on November 17, citizens and companies will be able to sell virtual currency only on foreign platforms. It is possible to sell the mined crypt in the Russian Federation, but only within the framework of a special experimental legal regime, Vedomosti reports.
Cryptobusiness criticizes the initiative of the authorities. According to the blockchain community, restrictive measures will not allow the industry to develop, and investors will not invest in infrastructure.
