Panini launches NFT of the football cracks of FC Barcelona and other teams in Spain

The publisher and creator of trading cards Panini announced this week the launch of the Trading Card Megacracks collection of the Spanish soccer league with almost 9,500 limited editions in non-fungible tokens (NFT) format.

As reported in a press release sent to the editorial office of CriptoNoticias, the physical cards of the Megacracks 2022/23 collection of La Liga Santander in Spain will have a unique code and another QR. In this way, users will be able to acquire their NFT. In total, there are 9,460 cards that will be part of Panini's ELITE NFT series.

The cards will be distributed among 20 players from different teams and in four different categories. Overall, there will be 3 “Platinum” collectibles for each player, for a total of 60. Also, 20 “Gold” cards for each figure, for a total of 400 total, and 150 “Silver” cards (3,000 total), as well about 300 “Bronze” (6,000 total).

Panini details that information about the collection will be available on a website and on its Discord social network profile. They also indicate that "a few NFTs" will be auctioned on the OpenSea platform until September 14.

The company assures that it is "to make these new cards known to the NFT world and see how much price they reach worldwide."

The company did not clarify in its communication on which blockchain the collection's NFTs will run. Although the use of a private blockchain for this purpose is presumable.

CriptoNoticias verified the offer of the Panini collection at OpenSea, where there are assets that are auctioned for the order of 0.8 ethers (ETH), the Ethereum cryptocurrency, or the equivalent of about USD 1,270 on average, according to our Price Calculator.

However, this varies depending on the player who is immortalized on the digital sticker. The price mentioned above corresponds to the NFT of the Brazilian Vinicius Jr., who currently plays for Real Madrid CF

Gavi's sticker, who wears the FC Barcelona shirt, is auctioned on OpenSea for 0.07 ETH, equivalent to about USD 111, on average. Others, however, trade for $35 each.

Panini highlights that, at the end of the auctions, on September 15, the limited pre-sale of the packages or boxes containing the ELITE NFT cards will begin.

As reported, the box will be made up of 50 physical cards from the LaLiga 22-23 Megacracks Collection. Of those, there are 49 regular cards in the collection and 1 ELITE NFT card, which has a tear system that unlocks the codes to get the collectible token.

The pre-sale of the box will last a week and the packaging will be sold for about 80 euros. It is proposed that, by next September 22, the formal sale of the ELITE NFT boxes will begin, which they will cost 100 euros, according to information from Panini.

This is not the first time that Panini has entered the world of NFTs. In 2020, the publishing company, famous for the albums of the soccer World Cups and other sports tournaments, launched a collectible card of former Argentine soccer player Diego Armando Maradona, which used a private blockchain, as reported by CriptoNoticias.
