Adidas Expands NFT Push With Xociety Collaboration and Digital Wearables
Adidas continues to build its Web3 presence through a new partnership with the game Xociety, offering digital wearables via the Sui-based NFT marketplace, Tradeport. Mystery boxes containing Adidas-branded avatar skins are available for purchase until May 23. The rarest "First tier" boxes include all eight skin sets, each with a top, bottom, and sneakers, while "Uncommon" boxes offer three sets.
The collaboration coincides with Xociety's upcoming playtest, launching May 15 on the Epic Games Store. Backed by $7.5 million in funding raised last summer, the game aims to fuse blockchain elements with immersive gameplay.
Adidas first stepped into the NFT arena in late 2021 with Bored Ape Yacht Club and has since partnered with Doodles and StepN. While Adidas remains active in the space, competitors like Nike have pulled back—shutting down its Web3 subsidiary RTFKT at the end of 2024.
