Rise of Fearless launches with hope of bringing African gamers to web3

UAE-based mobile gaming platform Rise of Fearless has released its early access via App Store and Google Play. In conjunction with the launch, the game has also announced it’s hoping to raise $700,000 to support its transition to web3, as well as expansion to other platforms.

Founded in 2024 by Kanessa Muluneh, Rise of Fearless combines African storytelling – inspired by Ethiopia’s victory against the Italians in 1896 at the Battle of Adwa – with battle royale combat.

As for web3, the game plans to adopt blockchain technology to enable players ownership of in-game assets such as weapons and skins. In addition, it’s looking to integrate a secure reward system as part of a broader digital ecosystem, looking to offer new financial pathways without the requirement of banks, especially in regions with limited access to traditional banking.

Rise of Fearless founder Kanessa Muluneh commented, “We have invested significantly in developing Rise of Fearless and are now raising $700,000 to expand the game, enhance gameplay, and transition to web3. This funding will allow us to build a blockchain-powered gaming ecosystem where players can truly own their digital assets and unlock new financial opportunities for gamers across Africa.”

“With this expansion, Rise of Fearless will not only push the boundaries of African gaming but also drive knowledge transfer, job creation, and social impact in one of the fastest-growing gaming markets in the world.”
