Netmarble Cultural Foundation holds '2023 Netmarble Game Concert'

The Netmarble Cultural Foundation (Chairman Bang Jun-hyuk) announced that it held the '2023 Netmarble Game Concert' at the Netmarble headquarters on the 29th of last month.

 

The Game Concert is a social contribution program in the form of an open forum in which the Netmarble Cultural Foundation has invited experts from various fields since 2019 to share game industry trends and future visions and share the experiences of experts and practitioners in order to create and spread a healthy game culture.

 

The 16th Game Concert, held for the first time this year under the main theme of 'Game and Future', was attended by about 100 spectators selected through pre-registration, and lectures were given by Professor Choi Jae-bung of Sungkyunkwan University and CEO Lee Dong-gun of Easy Contents Research Institute. A variety of side events were held together, including a Q&A session and a performance by the Coway Mulbitsori Choir.

 

Professor Choi Jae-bung, who gave a lecture on the theme of 'Game, the key to the success of the digital new continent' in Part 1, discussed the role of games at the center of the digital new continent, which entered the trend of generative AI represented by ChatGPT following metaverse and cryptocurrency. Professor Choi Jae-bung emphasized, "As the digital transformation of human civilization has occurred in the past 10 years, mankind must develop imagination and skills based on a digital worldview, and strive to become creative talents based on sincerity."

 

CEO Lee Dong-geon, who gave a lecture in the second part, explored the definition and effect of 'gamification', which grafts the mechanics of games to non-game fields, under the theme of 'Let's learn through games', and explored actual examples of games applied to education in the future. We looked at the direction the game should go with an introduction to the impact it will have. They also had time to share their experiences and know-how in developing educational games and software.

 

CEO Lee Dong-gun said, “Even in the field of education, the importance of gamification is increasing, and its role is also increasing. In order to use it well in the educational field, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of users based on planning skills.”

 

Student Jeong Min-seo, who participated in the game concert, said, “It was a very informative and fulfilling time where I was able to resolve my prejudices about the role of games.”

 

An official from the Netmarble Cultural Foundation said, "As we went offline this year in line with the post-corona era, more than 300 people applied for this game concert," adding, "The next concert scheduled for June will also expand our knowledge with various information. We are preparing to make it possible for the time to come, so please look forward to it.”
