SANDchain successfully completes phase 1 of its testnet

Launched in October 2025, Phase 1 of SANDchain’s testnet has completed, and has been labelled a success.

The announced metrics during the 120 days of operations were as follows.

• 6.9 million transactions
• 310,000 accounts created
• 203,000 onchain Manifesto signers
• 948,000 quests completed
• 35 ecosystem partners — The Sandbox, Animoca Brands, ZKsync, Caldera, Freename, Sequence, Blockus, Sura Gaming, NFTs2Me, SAIJ, Agent Daredevil, Omnihub, and many more
• 2,600 builder projects registered in the Builder Hub

In this context, SANDchain concludes that phase 1 stress-tested its L2 infrastructure at scale, also building a community purely through organic growth, with no paid UA.

It was particularly pleased to see that 203,000 wallets signed its Manifesto which states “SANDchain is not a platform, it’s an economy engine. Launch a token, open a vault, run quests, drop NFTs, stake LAND. Our products give creators the rails to monetize, govern, and expand their worlds without rebuilding from scratch.”

More generally, the test also saw SANDchain gaining 285,000 new X followers, 60,000 new Telegram members, 37,000 new Discord members, and 6,000 new token holders for partners.

Of course, given many users’ hope that signing the manifesto and completing quests will gain them financial reward in future, it’s sensible to be cautious about just how committed the community  actually is.

In contrast, the better news is likely that people are signing up to the Builder Hub, as that activity will be key to creating an ecosystem in the future.

As for Phase 2, SANDchain has highlighted it will have a particular focus on AI agents, including integrating technology from sister company Animoca Minds.

“If Phase 1 proved that identity, loyalty, and engagement loops can work on-chain, the next phase is about making these systems more dynamic, scalable, and intelligent,” it says.

“We’re exploring how this direction can enhance creator engagement — making interactions, rewards, and on-chain experiences more seamless and continuous over time.”
