Moku Grand Arena is latest web3 game to launch an Apptoken

Following the example of Pixels’ vPIXEL and Axie Infinity’s bAXS tokens, Moku has launched bRON in its Grand Arena game.

All three use Limit Break’s Apptoken standard, which is formally known as ERC-20C. This allows developers to launch a crypto token that is fully compliant with the Ethereum ERC-20 standard, but which also allows developers to tightly control features that limit speculative volatility and better align in-game rewards for active players.

Limit Break is also in the process of launching its LBAMM technology, which will enable developers to embed Apptokens in their own DeFi primitives such as DEX AMMs that enforce ERC-20C restrictions, such as trading pairs, discount rates and min/max prices.

In the case of Grand Arena, bRON stands for bonded RON, a token that’s backed 1:1 with the standard RON token. RON is the native token for the Ronin blockchain and is typically used to pay for gas.

At present, bRON is only live in Grand Arena and can not be swapped externally for RON. Its only current use case is to be spent within Grand Arena, although this will likely change over time.

For example, bAXS can be spent in Axie Infinity, and also swapped for AXS tokens, albeit at an exchange rate that reflects a user’s activity in the wider Axie Infinity ecosystem.

Users can get bRON tokens in Grand Arena by receiving an airdrop, opening card packs, buying boosts, or winning it through prize pools and daily jackpots.
