EVE Frontier’s Cycle 4 is now live, with WASD controls

Fully onchain space survival game EVE Frontier has completed its third hard wipe, and is now launching into its fourth three-monthly cycle.

As a game in open development, developer CCP Games is allowing players to experience the universe as it is built, with the proviso that it regularly reboots everything, except the Grace points that players accumulate.

In that context, Cycle 4 is one of the biggest updates to-date, with the new manual WASD control system a notable element. This is now the default option for flight, giving players more precision in their movement, although also requiring more skill.

CCP Games says it expects to further evolve the control method in the coming weeks.

Other changes include more complex enemy AI, new tools for base building, and the ability to continuously build in-game assets. There have also been new locations added into the wider game map, for which players will have to use the new navigation module.

Aside from regular free periods of play, access to EVE Frontier starts from $30, which also provides exclusive in-game assets and one month of premium access when the game eventually goes live.
