Sky Mavis launches Ronin Profiles, its reputation system
If everything you do on the blockchain is immutably recorded, it should be simple to build a reputation system based on everything every wallet has ever done.
But that’s the theory. In practise, it seems to be a lot more difficult.
Sky Mavis is making the attempt, however, launching Ronin Profiles, within its existing Ronin Wallet interface.
To set up your profile, you need to log in with (or create) a Ronin Waypoint wallet using email or social logins.
Labelled a minimum viable product, you can connect a further five externally-owned wallets by signing a transaction, hence providing an overview of everything you hold, including staked tokens.
Users can also set a custom profile name and avatar, also connecting their social accounts. And why this doesn’t mean much at the moment, it’s clear that Sky Mavis is looking to build on these profiles in future, especially in terms of using them to enable rewards.
This is something Pixels has already been working on for some time, while other companies such as Animoca are also working on their own versions in terms of its Moca ID and the forthcoming Moca Chain.
