With only 1,000 DAUWs, Craft World already dominates Ronin transactions

Demonstrating what happens when you drop an almost fully onchain game onto a blockchain that’s not that busy, Voya Games’ idle resource management title Craft World has already become a vital app in terms of transactions and gas fees on the Ronin blockchain.

Launched on 30th July, Craft World’s key onchain component is that all of its 25 in-game resources are ERC20 tokens. This means that when players sell a resource, getting the game’s DynoCoin, which they then sell to buy other resources, it’s generating transactions on Ronin’s Katana DEX exchange, lots of transactions.

In fact, over the past 24 hours, Craft World accounted for nine of the top 10 DEX token pairs on Ronin in terms of transactions, with its entry level Earth resource being the most traded asset.

The Earth/COIN pair was traded 22,263 times compared to 6,842 for the top non-Craft World pair WRON/WETH.

The result has seen activity on Katana rise 10-fold since the game’s launch, with Craft World accounting for more than 50% of all gas costs on Ronin.

Of course, in terms of its own financial value, the game is still a tiny element on Ronin. The biggest liquidity pool on Katana is the WRON/WETH pair with $12.6 million of liquidity. In comparison, the top Craft World pool is COIN/Water at $17,530.

However, with only around 1,000 daily active wallets currently playing Craft World, it has plenty of potential for growth assuming its audience increases in the coming months.
