Cross The Ages completes migration to Solana

Soon after announcing a strategic partnership with Animoca Brands and a second ecosystem game Arise, Cross the Ages Studio revealed it was migrating its TCG Cross the Ages to Solana. It had previously been deployed to Immutable.

With the move now completed, Cross the Ages is entering what it calls “the Solana era”, in which new features will roll out gradually alongside preparations of Season 4. Season 3 concludes 25th September. 

In a detailed post, the team has outlined some key changes implemented following the migration, including

• Account consolidation: Player accounts will be merged to a single identity. One account equals one KYC). Players with multiple accounts need to select one primary account, and the others will be consolidated.
• Marketplace: The Marketplace will exclusively use the CTA token as its currency.
• New Authentication System: Phantom wallet, Epic Games, Google, and Apple can be used for sign-ins. These options are customizable on the Portal.
• New Dashboard: A revamped interface to track assets such as Eternal, Stones, Trisel, and CTA tokens.

A major update being introduced to Cross The Ages’ earning system is Eternal Multiplier, which increases a player’s Trisel earnings across all games by boosting the value of card collections. It’s also designed to enhance the game ecosystem by enabling card rentals, marketplace activity, and CTA token exposure.

Set to be activated in the weeks following the migration, the Eternal Multipliers also comes with new DeFi features and a VIP program.

As for the reason behind the move to Solana, the team says it realised a need to introduce a clearer progression system based on ecosystem engagement through NFTs and the CTA token, and says the migration has allowed them to redesign the game’s “web3 utility of Eternal cards”, also encouraging players to rotate their cards. 

Not all assets will be moved to Solana however. All assets on IMX will be frozen by Immutable after the migration. Some will be removed from the game, allowing the team to “clean up and reduce the number of obsolete assets”. These will either be refunded or exchanged.

As Season 4 begins, further updates include 

• The removal of Flex cards to instead only have Static and Eternal cards. Minting will only apply to Static cards.
• The Forge system will be removed.
• Physical card collections will be integrated into the Portal in the form of Real-World Assets (RWA). 
• Furthermore, Cross The Ages is also releasing Land NFTs, which will need to be protected by card placements. 
• Finally, cards belonging to investors and the team were previously classified as Exclusives, but will now belong to the new class Divine.

To encourage migrations before the start of Season 4, players will be rewarded with Palmer/Erika cards, as well as being entered into a draw to win a Eli’Jah Unique card.
