Cambria Tops $25M in Lifetime Volume as RSGP Token Generation Event Approaches

Token launch on the horizon
Abstract’s risk-to-earn game Cambria is lining up the release of its RSGP token, with forecasts pointing to a fully diluted valuation above $50 million. No firm date has been locked in so far, although talk within the industry suggests the launch could land in early September. The anticipation has already pushed players to ramp up their activity in a bid to squeeze out as many rewards as possible beforehand.
Transition to incentives
Known as the Genesis Loot Drop, the opening phase wrapped up on August 5 after evaluating wallets on five different blockchains according to their past on-chain activity. It set the stage for the event currently underway, which began back on May 21.
Financial highlights
According to official figures, Cambria has racked up over $25 million in cumulative game volume since launch. Revenue for the developer came in at roughly $450,000, a number that leaves out a $132,093 write-down tied to an exploit of a pricing bug.
Gameplay dynamics
Dungeon Fishing, which arrived in July, has become the game’s biggest draw and now represents close to 83% of total volume, winning players over with fast rounds and generous payouts. The original Dungeons combat mode, by comparison, has produced roughly $4 million, while the remaining two modes — Sword in the Stone and Gizmo’s Folly — have attracted comparatively little traffic.
Mechanics of play
Entry to each mode requires buying keys, and payouts come back in the form of more keys plus items such as gems and crafted loot. Since both keys and rare items can be converted to cash, an extra financial calculation sits on top of the gameplay.
