The Sandbox launches UGC memecoin platform Corners

As part of its The Sandbox 3.0 revival, The Sandbox has announced and launched the invite-only beta of its new “free-to-use curation platform” called Corners.

Using the technology, users will be able to curate a collection of URL links and other content, allowing them to build communities around these ideas, topics or memes. Any member of these communities will be able to share and curate by adding links and content.

Each corner will also generate a Corner Coin, providing the potential for value creation for the most successful collections.

The platform will also use the SAND token, now live on the Base blockchain (alongside Ethereum and Polygon), as its main utility token. This means a portion of the platform’s activity will be used to reward Corner Coin holders with SAND.

“Corners is a great example of how partners can help extend the utility of the SAND token and support the continued evolution of The Sandbox ecosystem beyond gaming, commented The Sandbox’s CEO Robby Yung.

“By enabling curators to tokenize the content they love, Corners opens meaningful new opportunities for creativity and participation. We’re pleased to support products that build on our foundation and bring more communities into The Sandbox’s wider ecosystem.”
