Legend of YMIR does $116,776 of NFT trading in first 48 hours

Wemade’s Legend of YMIR has only just opened up its character NFT marketplace, and early trading suggests there’s already a market developing in its Norse-themed combat MMORPG.

According to the latest WEMIX PLAY marketplace data, the Legend of YMIR Character NFT collection has now generated $116,776 in total trading volume. Wemade’s fee is 5% of each transaction; $5,839.

That is not massive in absolute terms, especially compared to the peak years of blockchain gaming NFTs, but it is a meaningful early signal because this is not a speculative PFP mint. These NFTs are player-grinded characters, converted into tradable blockchain assets after meeting in-game progression requirements.

The character NFT marketplace officially opened on 19th May 2026 at 06:00 UTC. WEMIX PLAY says players can trade through auctions or make-offer mechanics, with buyers able to import purchased characters back into the game. The pitch is straightforward: turn the culmination of a player’s journey into a transferable asset.

That makes Legend of YMIR’s system closer to the established grey-market logic of MMORPG account trading than to traditional NFT drops. The key difference is that Wemade is formalising the process. Players are not buying abstract collectibles. They are buying levelled characters with growth power, class, server affiliation, equipment, skills, summons, runes, artifacts, story-deck progress and other account-linked progression data. The official NFT discovery system exposes this detail so buyers can assess what they are purchasing.

To mint an NFT, a player normally needs a character at level 60 or above, Awakening Stage 1 or higher, a linked WEMIX PLAY wallet, and 4,000 Diamonds. Wemade also requires the character to be located in Asgard Castle. For the launch period, however, there’s a 50% discount event, reducing the minting fee to 2,000 Diamonds (around $50) until a limited quota is reached. However, the additional 400 Diamond ($10) sealing fee needed to list a character for sale is excluded from the discount.

These costs are important because it means supply is not free. Every listed character represents not just gameplay time but also a premium-currency decision, although players can also earn diamonds through gameplay.

In that context, the $116,776 figure is more interesting than it first appears. It suggests some players believe there is enough liquidity in the marketplace to justify converting developed characters into tradable assets. The minting fee acts as a filter, discouraging low-quality listings and forcing sellers to internalise some of the cost of market creation. It also acts as a sink for diamonds earned through in-game activity.

That also makes Legend of YMIR different from earlier blockchain games where projects flooded the market with NFTs before gameplay demand had been proven. Here, the assets emerge from inside the game economy. A character has to be levelled, awakened, minted, sealed and then priced for sale. Even after minting, the character can continue to be played until it is sealed, which helps avoid the dead-asset problem common to older NFT game designs.

Of course, two days of data is early-stage trading, not proof of a sustainable economy. The key questions are whether volume continues after the discounted minting window ends, whether high-end characters keep commanding meaningful prices, and whether the marketplace serves real player demand rather than speculative flipping.

Still, Legend of YMIR is now demonstrating one of the more coherent blockchain gaming models. Not by selling NFTs as the starting point of the experience, but letting players convert accumulated in-game labour into a transferable asset.

And Wemade has previously demonstrated some success in this area, generating $5.4 million of direct blockchain revenue from its various games in Q1 2026.
