VHS launches virtual horse racing prediction game ZED Picks in US
OG blockchain game project Zed Run is continuing its reboot with the launch of mobile app ZED Picks.
This is a prediction market experience in which players select which virtual horses they think will win races.
All the horses are part of the wider ZED Champions ecosystem, in which players breed and train virtual horses, each of which is defined by its own set of traits and stats – including bloodline and performance history.
These horses are then entered into the races that players of ZED Picks interact with. Races occur every 80 seconds, with players selecting between two to four horses per race. You win if all your horses finish in the top four positions.
“ZED Picks is about meeting players where they are, on mobile, in short sessions, with real racing data powering every pick,” said Nir Efrat, CEO the game’s developer VHS.
“We’ve developed a simplified pick-and-play experience focused on strategy. This is a natural evolution of the ZED ecosystem, expanding into accessible, prediction-based formats built for all people, from sports fans to game enthusiasts, to interact with web3 gameplay.”
As well as selecting winning horses, ZED Pick also features daily bonuses, a referral program, and ongoing rewards, which drop its social currency Zcoin. The game’s other currency is called Zcash and it’s used to win real prizes.
ZED Picks is now available via Apple and Google app stores in most U.S. states, but not Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, and Washington.
The reason for this is that it’s technically defined as a sweepstakes-based skill game, which means players can participate without paying using the game’s free currencies. However, sweepstakes laws vary by state.
