Depin compute network Aethir launches education pilot with ASU’s Endless Games and Learning Lab

Decentralized compute network Aethir has signed a deal to work with Arizona State University’s Endless Games and Learning Lab. ASU is one of the US’ top rated universities in terms of innovation and patents.

The collaboration will see the organizations launch a pilot scheme to explore scalable, real-world applications of applied AI in game-based learning environments. This is the first time Aethir has partnered with an educational institution.

 The Endless Games and Learning Lab will use Aethir’s distributed AI compute platform to support applied research, student-led development, and interactive learning.

Aethir is also providing up to $3 million in network credits. The first projects are expected to go live in the 2025–2026 academic year.

Aethir’s network currently consists of over 435,000 containers (virtual GPU-powered hardware), located in over 90 countries, mainly Singapore, the US and Hong Kong. To-date it’s delivered over 1.1 billion hours of compute for various tasks ranging from game streaming and AI model inference to rendering.

It also claims to have generated $103 million of total network revenue since June 2024.

“This collaboration allows us to scale our ambitions using a high-performance, globally distributed AI infrastructure,” said director of ASU’s Endless Games and Learning Lab, Mark Ollila.
