Warner Bros Launches The Flash Web3 Movie Experience As NFT

Warner Bros Home Entertainment, the hit entertainment studio behind movies like The Dark Knight and Justice League, has launched its newest superhero film, The Flash, on the blockchain. The release of The Flash Web3 Movie Experience made it the first new release film offered on the blockchain while being distributed through traditional channels.

Warner Bros took to Twitter recently to announce that it would be offering The Flash on WB Movieverse, an online platform that hosts the production house’s web3 catalog. The latest web3 offering was launched in partnership with content blockchain pioneer Eluvio. The blockchain experience is currently available for preview and will go on sale on July 18, 2023.

According to a press release by Warner Bros, The Flash Web3 Movie Experience will be offered as a multimedia NFT that fans can own. The Web3 movie will allow viewers to collect key art, discover digital easter eggs and uncover hidden augmented reality (AR) collectibles. Owners of the NFT will also be able to sell the web3 movie in a community marketplace starting August 1, 2023.

“For Warner Bros., and the broader industry, it represents a new kind of immersive digital sell-through experience for 4K films and premium video assets – streamed from and backed by secure blockchain access and ownership on the Eluvio Content Fabric,” stated Michelle Munson, CEO and co-founder of Eluvio.

Warner Bros and Eluvio are offering The Flash as an interactive experience that will allow viewers to participate in the movie by uncovering hidden clues to help The Flash navigate different parts of the movie. Every purchase will come with a random key art featuring The Flash and other characters from the movie.
