Nexon GDC announces blockchain business

Nexon will participate in the Game Developers Conference (GDC) held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, USA from March 20th to 24th. The plan is to publicize and raise awareness of Nexon's blockchain business, such as non-fungible tokens (NFT).

Nexon announced on the 3rd that it will participate in GDC and give a lecture on the theme of combining MMORPG and blockchain technology.

Seonyoung Hwang, who oversees the MapleStory Universe project, will make a presentation on the 21st (local time) under the theme of 'MapleStory Universe: Completion of Core MMORPG Experience through Blockchain'. MapleStory Universe is an NFT-based blockchain ecosystem that is being designed based on Nexon's core intellectual property (IP). Nexon is preparing a project by selecting competitive MapleStory to build a huge ecosystem in which various tangible and intangible values are created around NFTs.

On the 22nd, Yoon Sang-cheol, head of Intelligence Labs, will give a presentation on the theme of 'Game Scale: The Secret to Nexon Games' Success at a Higher Level'. Based on Nexon's AI technology and data analysis, live game performance development experience and technical know-how are introduced.

Dae-hyun Kang, COO of Nexon, said, "Through this GDC, we will share Nexon's vision for the convergence of game and blockchain technology, as well as live service know-how accumulated over a long period of time, and increase our influence in the global game market and blockchain industry. We will expand," he said.
