Parallel TCG now available via app stores
Parallel Studios’ sci-fi trading card game Parallel TCG has finally arrived on mobile app stores.
It marks the end of a five-year journey that began with a set of collectibles launched during the peak of the NFT boom, and which saw the secondary trading volume for Parallel cards surpassing $125 million. In October 2021, noted crypto VC Paradigm led a $50 million Series A at a $500 million valuation.
Turning collectibles into a competitive card game took longer than expected, however. A closed beta followed in July 2023, with the first expansion set, Planetfall, arriving in October. The open beta arrived in February 2024, making the game free-to-play on PC. A month later, Parallel Studios closed a second funding round of $35 million.
Around this time, its PRIME token hit an all-time-high of $28. It’s currently down over 98%.
Still, throughout 2024 and 2025, the studio shipped steadily. The game launched on the Epic Games Store in mid-2024. The Aftermath expansion added 90 new cards in late 2024. Deception, a third expansion, followed in 2025 alongside a 90 percent burn of supply from earlier sets. A regional Android beta ran in the Philippines during 2025 to validate the mobile experience.
Technology aside, the biggest commitment, however, has been the attempt to make Parallel a flourishing esport. The Parallel League Championship at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas boasted a $250,000 prize pool, with subsequent seasons funded at $1 million and $2 million, respectively.
In this context, the global mobile launch is the final piece of the puzzle, marking the move from development to distribution. As a cross-platform free-to-play TCG using its NFTs as an optional layer to enhance PRIME earnings, Parallel has gone a lot further than the vast majority of web3 games.
