Blockchain-enabled MMORPG Lordnine is generating $1,500 ARPPU
Line Next has announced that in its first month, the blockchain-based item marketplace for Smilegate’s mobile/PC MMORPG Lordnine: Infinite Class has hosted more than $15 million-worth of cumulative NFT item trading.
Available in 35 countries, including South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand and the Philippines, the Next Market uses a version of the Tether stablecoin running on Line’s Kaia blockchain.
Significantly, the game also uses this version of Tether for in-game rewards. Its current prize pool is worth $250,000, with Line pointing out that 90% of these rewards have been spent back in the game, with only 10% cashed out.
Indeed, the average revenue per paying user for Lordnine is claimed to be a massive $1,500, which is 28% higher than regular web2 users.

Other interesting stats include the rise of Tether as an accepted currency by gamers. Its share of total trading volume is 41%, up from 5% in the past month.
And the use of Tether as a reward has also generated strong retention metrics with 89% of users trading on the market 30 days after their first purchase, which Line says is 11 times higher than regular gamers.
To continue this level of participation, Line Next plans to introduce exclusive in-game products tradeable only on the market and enhance its mission and rewards system to encourage broader participation.
