Youmio is launching its own AI agent L1 with Avalanche

Cosy life sim Today now rebranded as Youmio, has tripled-down on its AI agentic future, with the news that it’s going to be launching its own L1 using Avalanche’s blockchain tech.

It previously had its LIMBO token live on Solana.

Calling it the “first L1 focused on AI agents and agent-driven applications” the goal is that AI agents operating on the chain will be able to act in an autonomous manner across apps, games and other digital environments.

In order to facilitate this, the agents will all have their own wallets, modular skills and what’s called “an evolving metadata state”.

Youmio will launch its L1 with web-based launchpad Youmio Agents, which will enable users to make their own Mios, 3D AI characters that will develop their own personalities and operate across multiple apps.

This news following similar announcements from other blockchain-based AI agent tech companies such as Virtuals and ElizaOS, while giving AI agents more autonomy to do useful things is a wider goal that’s being explored by dozens of companies including the likes of OpenAL, DeepMind and Anthropic.

“Agents are the interface layer of AI, but without public infrastructure they’ll be owned, tracked and unverifiable,” said CEO Michael O’Connor.

“As we outsource decisions to them, we need agents we can trust. Youmio provides open infrastructure where agents act transparently, with identity, memory and provenance onchain, and privacy controls in the hands of users.”
