Claudia Leitte's 'Realverso': singer chooses bold theme for Carnival return and delivers concepts behind the looks

Claudia Leitte gathered the press, this Monday afternoon (13), at a restaurant in São Paulo to announce news about the Carnaval de 2023. After a three-year hiatus, the singer returns to parade in Salvador with the blocks "Blow Out" and "Largadinho" and also with the stringless trio "Pipoca da Claudinha ".
While the world is still becoming familiar with the concept of metaverse , Claudia presents a counterproposal and brings "Realverso" as the title of her Carnaval and of her new era, which has already started with the release of an EP .
"I believe that the 'Realverso' is a possibility for you to be open to new opportunities, but being you, actually living the present moment, with intensity, enjoying every second of that moment. Every time is important and the now is the most important thing. I wanted to reaffirm that, this thing of living intensely. I think Carnival gives me this opportunity to not sing a song just for the sake of singing. I don't join the trio to become famous, to earn more money, I join to live that moment, to serve people", explained Claudia.
According to the artist, the concept of "Realverso" does not criticize the digital world, but proposes an appreciation of the sensations that only face-to-face experiences and physical contacts can offer. "We are not opposing the metaverse, social networks, where they have that digital contact with people, the likes, everything is energy. But we are emphasizing that, in the real world, we can all work people's senses very strongly", he added.
CLAUDIA LEITTE WILL REFERENCE THE FIVE SENSES IN CARNIVAL LOOKS
Claudia is known for boldly incorporating the Carnival theme into her costumes and her trio's aesthetic. When honoring women , she dressed as Madonna; in the parade in which he celebrated the sport, went into the middle of the audience inside a giant basketball.
In the year of "Realverso", the performer wants to celebrate the five senses of human beings (smell, touch, taste, hearing and sight) in her looks. "I will exalt our five senses and I'm going to talk about intuition, which, for many people, is considered the sixth sense. Intuition is this connection between the head and the heart walking in balance; sometimes not. But always bringing the story of intensity", said Claudia.
For the looks, Claudia will have a stylist by Satomi Maeda and costumes by Israel Valentim, a haute couture designer who has dressed the singer for years and has already designed for other celebrities, such as Juliana Paes . "He's the guy who makes me feel feminine as I like to be, feel beautiful. However, he has a very cool concern with my comfort on top of the trio, with the safety of wearing something that it won't tear, because it distracts me, it makes me leave my music", he defined.
Despite all the preoccupation with the concept, the music still dictates everything. "I always think that it's the music that draws everything. It's the music that brings color to my stage, it's the music that dresses me up there. I think about my repertoire and then I make my costumes" , said the performer.
CLAUDIA LEITTE SAYS THAT PREPARATION FOR CARNIVAL GOT LIGHTER OVER THE YEARS
In the midst of an intense marathon of work throughout the summer, Claudia says that she prepares all year round for Carnival.
"I eat very well all year round, I think I eat better at this time of year, but it's all year round. It gets lighter over time, a healthy, conscious diet, everyone every day, because I love to sing, I love to do this, it's not a sacrifice, there's nothing to suffer. There are hours of sleep, when I can sleep, I'm sleeping, because it's the best for the voice ", delivered.
However, the hardest part for Claudia is essential care for her voice: spending hours in silence so as not to wear out her vocal cords. "It's really hard to do that. I'll stay! I promise I'll stay . That's right, I say it's a sacrifice I make. My husband, when it's over, says: 'For the love of God, talk again, please'. I think I even do it because of the drama of seeing him asking me to come back talking," he joked.
Claudia's commitment, aged 42, is a long-term investment: she imagines herself leading a trio in old age and sees her Carnival companion, Bell Marques, as a great inspiration. "You can see Bell Marques in the trio. He's even going to do the 'Arrastão' [Arrastão on Ash Wednesday, in Salvador]. Bell turned 70. Wait for me! chip too. I want more! I just want to sing for people!", he said.
