Part of the sale of the NFT-meme "Woman screaming at a cat" will go to Ukrainian children

The Ukrainian charitable foundation Unchain.Fund will hold an NFT auction on November 18 at 13:00 New York time, where it will put up the popular meme "Woman Yelling at a Cat". 25% from the sale of the lot will go directly to help children from Ukraine who suffered as a result of Russian armed aggression.

They decided to organize a charity auction online on the Foundation.app marketplace platform. This was reported by representatives of the Ukrainian organization in social networks.

The meme is a collage of a screaming American star of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reality show Taylor Armstrong and a photo of a disheartened Smudge cat sitting at a dinner plate of vegetables. The image became popular in the summer of 2019 and even won the "Meme of the Year" award in 2020.

As for the authorship of the meme, in this case, the copyright holders are Taylor Armstrong herself and the cat's family. The NFT auction is being held in partnership with them and the agency Zlodei (BADS). The Ukrainian fund Unchain.Fund received official support from all participants related to the lot. 75% of the income will be divided among themselves by Armstrong, the owners of Smudge and BADS.

It is also noted that the BADS agency recently sold another popular Coffin Dance (“Dancing Coffin Carriers”) meme as NFT in 2022, then donating $ 250,000 of the proceeds to the Turn Back Alive charitable foundation for helping the Ukrainian army.
