Soccerverse Season 1 ends with total club economy worth over $340 million

Fully onchain Polygon-based world football simulation Soccerverse has successfully completed its first six-month-long season, posting some impressive economic numbers in the process.

With a total of 5,350 clubs available to manage – everywhere from Albania and Algeria to Zambia and Zimbabwe – users have been very active in terms of managing their teams through the season, as well as buying influences in clubs to boost their managers’ performance with advice and cash injections so clubs can buy better players.

Indeed, one measure of the game’s success has been activity on the transfer market with more than 30,000 transfer bids made and over 9,500 players moving between clubs. That’s around 6% of the total 169,000 players listed in the game.

As well as management duties, Soccerverse allows users to take the roles of player agents, adding deeper levels of complexity to the transfer process, and the overall game experience.

The result is the game has now surpassed $340 million in terms of the combined capitalization of all clubs; a stat that is broadly equivalent to the fully diluted value of a cryptocurrency.

“Season 1 exceeded all our expectations. We didn’t just launch a game; we kicked off a vibrant digital football economy, driven entirely by the strategic decisions of our community,” said Soccerverse CEO Andy Gore.

“The sheer volume of transfers, the boardroom drama, and the rivalries that emerged have laid the foundation for something truly special. We’re incredibly proud of the complex world our managers have built.”

Of course, this is only the start. Season 2 starts on Saturday 19th July.
