Pixie Chess has announced it has raised $5.2 million in a round led by Paradigm, with participation from Seedclub and Anichess’ Chevan Tin. The chess-based game runs on Base, with players minting chess pieces that have special powers. These include a queen that explodes after 5 moves, a bishop that can bounce off the edge of the board, and a pawn that can’t be taken, or take other pieces, or be promoted.
