BPMG’s Poplus partners with Sony’s Soneium ahead of token launch

Preparing to launch its blockchain-enabled social platform Poplus, South Korean B2B tech company BPMG hopes to demonstrate that token rewards remain the strongest driver of web3 adoption.

Part of its wider flagship project, GemHub, Poplus will introduce a tokenized reward system powered by GHUB tokens.

Compared to traditional web2 platforms, every interaction on Poplus is recorded on the blockchain, ensuring transparency in tracking engagement. In this way, it aims to convert community activity into value, offering users a stake in the platform’s growth.

To further support scalability and global expansion, Poplus has partnered with Sony Group to leverage its Soneium L2 blockchain. Beyond enabling user-generated content, Poplus has also integrated its rewards system in existing web3 games such as FortressDragon Flight, and Rappelz M.

In terms of addressing the risk of excessive speculation and a plummeting token price, BPMG says Poplus is designed with a balanced token economy based on utility and long-term engagement. Through its subsidiary Blomics, the company holds licenses for game IPs including Tales Runner and Fortress 3.

BPMG recently raised $5.2 million in series A funding to support its Poplus vision of onboarding millions of existing gamers into web3.
