MapleStory N launches month-long Pudgy Penguins collab

Blockchain games love a collaboration and the new hook-up between Nexpace’s MMORPG MapleStory N and signature crypto IP Pudgy Penguins looks sure to get players excited.

Running until 28th January, it consists of various different activations and a special shop selling limited edition items. These include the King Pengu Pet, the Magic Igloo, which contains 22 cosmetic items, and a raffle for the special, limited-edition Pengu Winter Snowcatcher costume set.

All items, including raffle tickets, are purchased using the NESO currency, although you need a coupon to get the King Pengu Pet.

As for events, players will have to complete the Welcome Pudgy World event and the Pudgy Jelly Shop – Pudgy Jelly is an event-exclusive reward that can exchanged for special items – to unlock the following events.

• Raise Pudgy to Hero – Help Strong Pudgy and Smart Pudgy level up, also earning rewards such as V Coin or Pudgy Jelly.

• Penguins and the Sea – go ice fishing to catch fish and rewards including Pudgy Jelly and EXP.

• Pudgy Pink Bean’s Mystery Staff – use the Mystery Staff to gain massive amounts of EXP.

• Pudgy Fireworks – set off Pudgy Fireworks to earn special rewards.

• Pudgy Power Crystal Airdrop – Ride the Power Crystal Shed and scatter Power Crystals.

Nexpace to start quarterly NXPC token burn

25th November: Nexpace has announced that it’s going to start a quarterly token burn of its NXPC token.

The burn event – which means the tokens will be sent to a blockchain address no-one has the key for – will happen following each of the company’s financial quarters. These end on 31st January, 30th April, 31st July and 31st October, with 20% of the tokens Nexpace has accumulated from its fees of the MapleStory Universe burnt on each occasion.

However, to start the process first burn will take place on Thursday 27th November, which will see 3.8 million NXPC tokens burnt. This is 20% of the tokens Nexpace gained during Q2 and Q3 2025.

NXPC has a total supply of 1 billion tokens, of which are 23% are currently circulating.

Nexpace announces $50 million MapleStory Universe ecosystem fund

20th November: Six months after the successful launch of its PC MMORPG MapleStory N on its own Avalanche-based Henesys blockchain, Nexpace has set the scene for future long term expansion.

Nexon’s web3 division, which is based in Abu Dhabi, has announced the launch of an ecosystem fund that will invest up to $50 million to grow both MapleStory Universe and what it hopes will be “the broader Nexpace ecosystem”.

This will include supporting a wider category of web3 sectors including UGC, tokenized real-world assets, AI and financial infrastructure.

In this way, Nexpace hopes to expand MapleStory Universe beyond being just a blockchain game-focused project to one embracing the whole consumer onchain experience.

However, the fund will be based on the NXPC token and require supported projects to interact with MapleStory N as a foundation layer, as well as encouraging what Nexpace calls “entirely new ways of experiencing the MapleStory IP“.

Funding for the Ecosystem Fund will come from Nexpace and a group of strategic advisory partners including VCs such as Altos Ventures, Chainlink Labs, GSR and Hashed Ventures.

As well as money, these partners will provide additional services such as guide early-stage projects with support and mentorship, and co-develop ecosystem initiatives.

There will be an internal project review and approval process before any funds are deployed.

“This initiative reflects our belief that the future of gaming experiences and interactive entertainment depends on real-world utility and sustainability,” said Nexpace’s CEO Sunyoung Hwang.

“The Ecosystem Fund plans to serve as a catalyst for the expansion we’ve already been driving beyond games. It will accelerate our vision of building a connected universe where digital finance, AI, and builder innovation together form the foundation of a sustainable, player-driven economy.”

Over 37% of MapleStory Universe’s accounts banned for botting

10th November: Highlighting the level of nefarious activity experienced by games, especially blockchain games, Nexon’s web3 arm Nexpace has detailed its continuing measures to deal with players trying to gain unfair advantage in MapleStory Universe.

As explained in a Medium post, Nexpace says it’s banned 640,000 accounts since the launch of PC game MapleStory N.

This is 37% of the 1.75 million lifetime accounts total that was announced a couple of weeks ago. However, the good news is Nexpace says the result of such efforts has been a drop in “such activity by 82%”.

This impact can clearly been seen in terms of the number of new wallets logging into the ecosystem, which peaked at 70,000 in June 2025 before Nexpace introduced its first wave of anti-botting measures, including its Credit Level system.

But the battle never ends, with Nexpace detailing its new KYC reverification system, which attempts to deal with abusers purchasing pre-verified accounts or bypassing its KYC requirements in other ways.

To-date, this system has identified 28,000 accounts for further checks, which were completed by only 155 accounts.

The success of this approach means Nexpace will be rolling out reverification more aggressively, including use of a credit card-based verification option, which it believes is low friction for legitimate users but high friction for at-scale malcontents.

In this context, it’s interesting to see that MapleStory Universe has been maintaining a fairly steady rate of daily active wallets of between 60,000 to 70,000 over the past couple of weeks.

MapleStory Universe hits lifetime 1.75 million accounts with monthly ARPU of $13.40

24th October: Maplestory Universe has released its Q3 2025 ecosystem report under the title “A quarter of steady progress and continued foundation building‘.

In terms of headline stats, the ecosystem, which consists of PC game MapleStory N and its NFT marketplace, has now hit 1.75 million lifetime accounts.

• The underlying Henesys blockchain is averaging around 70,000 daily active unique wallets.

• In terms of financial measures, in September 2025 there were 374,183 accounts holding the in-game NESO currency and 404,682 wallets holding the game’s NXPC cryptocurrency, up 41% and 21% respectively compared to the totals in August.

• Average monthly revenue per active user was down 14% from 65 NXPC in August to 56 NXPC ($13.40) in September.

• It’s also worth noting that the dollar price of NXPC continues to fall, down 44% in the past month to $0.35.

Total revenue during September was 2.5 million NXPC ($856,000), most of which was spent enhancing in-game characters and items, with around 10% of volume consumed in terms of marketplace fees.

In terms of future plans, in Q4 the ecosystem plans to further expand its openness for third party builders with the rollout of its extended API and builder affiliate program.

The MapleStory N game will also get its 5th job advancement update, various monthly events and an update to the Credit Level System and other anti-bots measures.
