iBLOXX Secures Over $5 Million

iBLOXX Secures Over $5 Million

iBLOXX Studios has raised $5.4 million to complete development and support the launch of StrayShot, a mobile third-person shooter built with blockchain-powered asset ownership. Announced from Dubai on February 4, 2026, the funding is aimed at turning StrayShot into a full live-service title, combining traditional shooter mechanics with web3 features that allow players to own and trade select in-game items on-chain.

The studio is positioning StrayShot as a competitive shooter designed for accessibility, with performance optimization for low-end mobile devices. Alongside gameplay development, the investment will support marketing, global distribution, ongoing live operations, and future platform expansions, including console versions.

iBLOXX operates with a global focus and has partnerships with industry participants such as Xsolla, as well as organizations working on blockchain and gaming infrastructure. The team has also presented StrayShot at international events including Gamescom as part of its wider push toward a global audience.

What Kind of Game Is StrayShot

At its core, StrayShot is a mobile third-person shooter built around fast, competitive multiplayer. The game includes Battle Royale, Team Deathmatch, and Extraction-style modes, placing players into the fictional Sierra Verde region. In this setting, players take on the role of mercenaries fighting both rival players and the El Fuego cartel.

The focus on mobile performance is a key part of the project. iBLOXX has designed StrayShot to run smoothly on lower-end hardware while still supporting online multiplayer features and regular updates. The title is currently in closed testing, with live-service infrastructure already in place to support content drops, balance changes, and seasonal updates after launch.

Rather than leaning fully into crypto-first design, StrayShot is structured like a conventional shooter first, with its blockchain systems layered into the experience instead of replacing core progression systems.

How Web3 Fits Into the Gameplay

The defining feature of StrayShot is its use of blockchain technology for on-chain asset ownership. Selected in-game items are recorded on-chain, giving players verifiable ownership over parts of their inventory. These assets can be transferred or traded securely outside of traditional centralized game databases.

For players, this means certain weapons, skins, or equipment can exist as player-controlled digital property rather than being locked entirely to the game publisher’s servers. iBLOXX describes the system as a way to give users more control over their in-game items while keeping gameplay familiar for players who may not be experienced with blockchain tools.

By targeting mobile devices, iBLOXX is also aiming to lower the barrier to entry for web3 gaming, bringing on-chain features into a space traditionally dominated by free-to-play shooters with centralized economies.

What the Funding Will Be Used For

The $5.4 million round will support several parts of StrayShot’s roadmap. iBLOXX plans to invest in global marketing, publishing operations, and infrastructure for live service management. Ongoing development will focus on content updates, new features, backend scalability, and player acquisition across multiple regions.

Beyond mobile, the studio is also preparing ports to additional platforms, including console versions. This expansion is intended to widen the game’s reach and establish StrayShot as a cross-platform shooter rather than a mobile-only experience.

The funding also supports long-term operations, ensuring the game can maintain regular updates, events, and technical improvements once it moves beyond testing and into full release.

iBLOXX’s Broader Strategy in Blockchain Gaming

iBLOXX Studios is part of a growing group of developers exploring how blockchain fits into mainstream game design without disrupting core mechanics. Instead of centering the experience on tokens or speculation, StrayShot integrates web3 features around ownership, trading, and verification, while keeping its main focus on competitive shooter gameplay.

By combining mobile accessibility with decentralized asset control, the studio is aiming to attract both traditional shooter fans and players interested in digital ownership. The approach reflects a broader shift in web3 gaming toward blending familiar genres with blockchain infrastructure rather than reinventing how games are played.

Domenik Maier, CEO of iBLOXX Studios, said the funding helps align gameplay and ownership systems as the title moves closer to release, positioning StrayShot as a live-service shooter built around player-controlled digital assets.
