Danilo Gentili earns BRL 100,000 with sales of NFTs from the “Brazuera” collection
The comedian and TV presenter, Danilo Gentili, profited around R$ 100 thousand with the launch of his collection of non-fungible tokens ( NFT ) Brazuera, held last week .
When sales opened on November 7th, the 500 NFTs that make up the collection sold out within seven hours. As each NFT was on sale for 0.025 ETH, the comedian made a profit of 12.5 ETH, an amount of cryptocurrencies --nbsp ;equivalent to approximately BRL 100,000 at that day's exchange rate ether .
The feat made Gentili go to Instagram, where he has more than 10 million followers, to celebrate what he called a “record”, taking advantage of the occasion to poke the critics of the collection:
“Yesterday there were some experts in our Discord community saying that we were amateurs and we shouldn't get involved with this. Result: WE SELL 500 NFTs in less than 7 hours! A Record! Thank you to everyone who participated!”
The comedian's profits from the collection can be even greater, as he charges a 10% fee on secondary trades. That is, every time an NFT from the collection is sold from one user to another, he earns 10% of the sale value.
Since the collection was launched, there have been 85 resales in OpenSea , the industry's largest NFT trading platform. There, the total volume of negotiations is around R$ 52 thousand.
The platform also shows that, although the 500 NFTs in the collection were sold, there were not 500 different people who participated in the sale. There are currently 320 users with a collection NFT, which means the unique holder rate is 64%.
What is Brazuera?
Brazuera is the metaverse of Danilo Gentili in which he proclaims himself president. On the Brazuera website — which highlights the phrase “Yes, We Zuera” — the comedian signs a synopsis, describing his world with monsters and giants, the challenge and the quest for victory in a devastated space. “It is beyond imagination that we will find the strength to defeat them,” reads an excerpt.
Gentili says that anyone interested in the collection of NFTs will be able to “be part of a community that dared to bet on the valorization of an idea” and “advance this hostile desert wilderness in favor of freedoms”. For him, it is “a still virtual value in our real country”.
The site also informs that the user who acquires an NFT from the collection, gains “the right to citizenship in BRAZUERA”.
One of Brazuera's most prominent figures is the Mutt Caramelo, which Gentili describes as the “spirit that drives us”. “We are a raceless people, although we have all races in one, we can be smart as serpents but we are docile as sparrows, we survive the worst conditions of abandonment without ever losing our tenderness.”
The person behind Gentili's project is Angelo Whosoever, founder of Esquentaverso. He also helped Marco Luque create an NFT collection, but this it did not have the same success as the collection of the former CQC colleague .
