[Exclusive] Netmarble FNC, acquired subsidiary name changed to 'Metaverse Games'

Netmarble FNC, a core subsidiary of Netmarble, is attracting attention as it is grafting 'Metaverse' into the main affiliate's name one after another. It is interpreted as a will to target the next-generation business, Metaverse.

According to the game industry and Internet registry office on the 29th, it was revealed that Netmarble FNC (CEO Seo Woo-won) recently changed the name of Floppy Games, which it acquired in June, to 'Metaverse Games'.

Floppy Games, established in 2014, is a game developer that made 'Yokai' and 'Cross Chronicle', and Netmarble FNC incorporated it as a subsidiary through a comprehensive stock exchange. In the future, it is expected that he will be mainly responsible for developing games that will be operated in its own blockchain ecosystem based on the key currency 'Cube'.

This is not the first time Netmarble FNC's 'Metaverse' mission has taken place. 'Metaverse Entertainment' was established in August last year to conduct metaverse content production and service business related to games, such as virtual reality platform development and virtual idol management. The company name was changed to 'Metaverse World'. This means that Metaverse Games has also been added.

In addition, as Netmarble FNC is known to have secured several metaverse-related trade names such as 'Metaverse Company', it is expected that this metaverse mission will continue in the future.

The company said, "The acquired company has changed its name so that they can have a common vision while showing the direction and identity of their business."

Meanwhile, Netmarble FNC is operating a web3 entertainment platform 'Cube' that encompasses games, digital human, entertainment, contents (webtoons, web novels), commerce, and electronic wallets based on block chain technology. It aims to form a metanomics ecosystem using Cube, its own virtual asset based on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), and is developing a metaverse that users' avatars and digital humans can enjoy together.
